Digital Camera Inspections

Digital Camera Inspections. The only proof of an inspection is a photo of the inspection... Our digital camera inspection allows you to copy across the digital image (viewed directly from your usb camera), as it does this it automatically Date/Time stamps the image, it also stamps the inspectors Name on the image and of course automatically creates the inspection record with these
details. The Date/Time of the Inspection cannot be manually edited it is based solely on the image date. To save disk space we reduce images to around 35k. The image below was created using the PM2 camera inspection system. All you do is select the image, the associated site and press Go!

Photo's visually display the conditions at the time of inspection, pictures do paint a thousand words - was it sunny, overcast, wet, dry, was there snow, ice, even was it windy. Was the grass long/short were the paths swept or littered etc... Managers, Supervisors, all users can now see what's happening on-site not just the one inspector that inspects it!
Automatic Site/Risk Assessments - PM2 calculates Site/Item risk based on the defects own risk assessment value thus inspections are completed automatically - all data required comes from the defects at the time of inspection. All you do is select the photo and press create! finally add any new defects from your camera and tick-off any defects that have been repaired... done...
Why so important ? - Your system holds an image of the playground taken at its best - but what does it look like now? - whenever a manager opens a site record they see a great looking photo of the site - click and you see what it looked like at the last inspection...The above site looked great last May - but how does it look now ?
Our PDA (personal digital assistant) is a Digital Camera. We do get asked whether PM2 uses a traditional PDA then stating they allow an inspector to spend less time in the office - Yes an Inspector WILL spend less time in the office (if they don't record images), BUT this is simply because they are spending more time than necessary trying to enter data into the PDA (usually in
their car). PDA's are extremely poor at manually recording data - they DO NOT have decent keyboards or screens compared to a PC! The PDA isn't saving time it's wasting
time! indeed rarely will it be advertised as saving time it is often simply justified as paperless... but so too is a digital camera...
All digital photo's are handled by PM2 and automatically resized, vastly reducing individual file sizes. Each is copied to our photo library, the user being given an option whether to leave or delete the original and whether to overlay a file date stamp.
Inventory images are automatically thumb nailed and stored inside special files... as an example, if you had 100 sites with say 10 items in each, instead of holding 1,000 images on disk PM2 only holds 100... the saving in disk space and load speed is enormous! Pictures taken at say a 2mgb size are automatically reduced to a size of approximately 20k... naturally they still view and print beautifully as shown in our demo
app... even better - images can be directly copied across from your digital camera - to ensure you select the correct photo a thumbnail is displayed as you move through your list of images...
Automatically generate Inspection Schedules for Standard and Detailed Inspections. Detailed Inspections missed are automatically re-scheduled. PM2 will even schedule the next Operational Inspection based on the day of the week of the last operational inspection!

As for the capabilities of PM2 take
a look at our Site Status Report - For the sites you select this report will for any date
Past or Present list the number of inventory items registered at each site, the total
number of items marked dangerous and or out of order and defective. Against each
site PM2 will then list the last inspection and audit taken on or before the selected
date. Optionally the equipment inventory at this time can be listed (regardless of
whether currently archived or not) or list just those items at that time with defects.
Optionally you can also list the inventory replacement guide as it stood on the
selected date - ALL this on a single report and there are many others ready and waiting to
be run at the press of a button!
